Car Insurance & London
Recent research by car insurance companies have shown that living in London can be very bad when it comes to the price of your car insurance premium. Londoners pay some of the highest premiums in the country. These prices can be around and over £700 a year fully comprehensive. However prices seem to favour people who live in the west end. The average premium there is around £260.
It has been thought car insurance companies have been relatively good at determining which customers out there would be thought of being high risk. The fact remains that London areas are diverse and varied. An area which may seem to be wealthy may be situated just a few yards from an area which is of a high crime rate. The rules of insurers looking at post codes to determine premium prices may have to be looked at again.
Other factors that car insurance companies look at are the amount of people in the area, the level of activities which go on at night i.e. night clubs and bars an also if the area which you live in has CCTV cameras. These usually mean better security measures have been put in and could result in lower premiums.
