All Risks – This means the car insurance policy is covering all risks.

Broker – This is a independent company that negotiates and finds the most suitable cover for you.

Business Use - Term given when the car is used as transport in the normal course of your job.

Cover Note - A temporary certificate issued to you while you wait on your policy to be evaluated..

Excess – This is simply the compulsory percentage you have to pay when you decide to make a claim.

Exclusions – These are actual named situations in the policy or the small print if you will. This text states what you are not covered for.

First Party - You.

Second Party - Your car insurance company.

Third Party - Other person.

Green Card – A document that proves you have the minimum level of car insurance by law to drive in the country you're in or visiting.

Immobilisers – These devices are fitted to a vehicle that can render it completely immobile.

Liability – This means your financial responsibility to any third parties involved in an accident.

Main Driver - The is the usual driver of the vehicle.

Named Drivers – The people who are named on the policy that are covered to drive that particular vehicle.
